Who we are

Radiant Exchange emerged from many years of research done by the Kiss-Architects team addressing the solutions to future climate extremes.

This research led us to radiant modular systems as the most effective method for cooling outdoors under extreme weather conditions.

The radiant system shown has been operating since June 2023 in Brooklyn NY, providing comfort in extremes of both hot and cold temperatures.

Our Team

Gregory Kiss has worked to advance the art and science of integrated environmental design for more than 30 years. He pioneered Building Integrated Photovoltaics, designing several of the first true BIPV commercial buildings in the US, and authored a series of early technical reports for the DOE/NREL as well as for NYSERDA.

Mahadev Raman is an Arup Fellow and serves as a Director of the Arup Trustee Board after retiring from the firm in 2020. Previously, he was Chairman of Arup Americas and a member oft the Arup Group Board. He is also a faculty member at the Princeton University School of Architecture where he teaches environmental and net-zero energy building design.

Rowan Bortz is a 2023 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in medical device development under the Bioengineering program. Her research focused on data analysis. Over the last nine months she has applied and advanced current research on the role of radiative heat transfer in thermal comfort. She has led the development of key hardware and software systems for the radiant pavilions.
